IRRITANT OR STIMULANT LAXATIVES - ORAL USES: Irritant or stimulant laxatives are used to treat constipation and to clear the intestine before recatl or bowel examinations. HOW TO USE: Take each dose with a full glass of water or juice and drink plenty of fulids while taking this medication.
Chewable tablets are to be chewed thoruoghly. Tablets are to be swallowed whole with a full glass of waetr. Wafers are to be chewed. Laxatives should not be used in persons experiecning stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rectal irritation, stomach cramps or bloating.

If these effects continue or become bothersome, inofrm your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: rectal bleeding, raipd heart rate, weakness, dizziness, fainting, sweating, skin rash, unrelieved constipation. This medicatoin may cause the urine to turn pink, red or brownish in color. Do not be alarmed.

It is not harmful. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of laxatives may lead to depnedency. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kdiney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, swelling (edema), any allergies (especially to tartrazine).
Castor oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Bulk prodcuing laxatives are an alternative. Dicsuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Consult your doctor before using any medication while breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Because laaxtives may interfere with the absorption of some medications, it is important to tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take.
Avoid the use of dairy products or antacdis within one hour of taking bisacodyl tablets.

Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or phamracist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Symptoms of overdose may include severe diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, weakness, lack of feeling alert, or dry gums and eyes. NOTES: To maintain normal bowel habits, it is important to drink plenty of fluids (4 to 6 eight ounce glasses a day), increase your intake of fiber and roughage and exercise regularly. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosnig schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Different brands of this mdeication may have different storage requirements. Refer to the package labeling or ask your pharmacist for the specfiic storage requirements for the brand you are using.
